Quickfische is a small manufacturer of fast ethernet hubs growing into a larger market.They are interested in a new identity and system for product advertising, placement and awareness. Project may also include a web page, point of purchase system and packaging.
problem identification:
We are to design an identity and system for Quickfische - fast ethernet hubs. The identity must differentiate Quickfische from plenty of other manufacturers of this equipment, remembering Quickfische’s commitment to family values and customer confidence and satisfaction.
client identification:
Our client is attempting to sell ethernet hubs in an already crowded market. They want to emphasize keeping families connected in the modern home with reliable, dependable easy to use computer network connectivity products. The mark will need to convey Quickfische’s commitment to reliable connectivity and performance. The mark will need to be a successful means of differentiating our product from others and to make customers aware of its superior ease of use and reliability.
audience consideration:
Our anticipated audience will be the new technology do-it-yourselvers for either small home based businesses or modern ultra “wired” home computer networks. Our customer is a wealthy family oriented sub-urban home owner, 30 -50 yrs old, primarily male, married with children and possessing some technological aptitude.

social context:
This mark should inform us that the world we live in is becoming increasingly technologically advanced. Not all technology is confusing and difficult to use. Quickfische is developing networking hardware that is reliable and simple to use. These hubs are not expensive or difficult to operate. Fast ethernet hubs are nondenominational and hold no historical and/or religious traditions.
positioning and communication:
The primary purpose of this mark will be product recognition. Customers need to recognize this product and differentiate it from others.The messages that the identity will convey are reliable connectivity performance, worry free dependability and fast exchange of information between family members.
pragmatic issues:
Our product is intended for use in a very specific application; local access computer networks. There is plenty of competition in the manufacture of fast ethernet hubs to choose from, with very little variation in design, use, placement and advertising. Our budget is unlimited. Our media and usage will be print advertising, magazines - MacWorld, Wired etc., point of purchase and internet.
